Convenient Alternatives To Dentures!

When it comes to replacing teeth, one of the easiest and most cost-effective ways historically has been dentures. But now, there are so many other options that provide greater strength and efficiency than dentures for similar costs. They also reduce the issues caused by dentures. Here are the alternatives to dentures you can access in Ocala, Florida.

Issues With Dentures

Dentures are a great way to replace a full arch of teeth but come with their own issues. One major issue is slippage, where the dentures slide out of their adhesive. This can cause rashes, soreness, and even damage to the bone underneath.

Another issue with dentures is underlying bone decay. Without the roots of your teeth to help support the muscles and bones, the bone slowly weakens and fades away. This means the dentures will no longer sit properly causing pain while chewing.

Solutions To Denture Woes

Luckily, there are many affordable solutions to traditional dentures. One of them even still uses dentures but supports them differently. What we are talking about are implant-supported dentures. Dental implants are anchors that are drilled into that can provide support for dentures or be used to fashion fake teeth, known as crowns. By using these, the jaw bone is supported so bone decay is less likely to occur and slippage does not happen since they are anchored in place.

Implant-supported dentures are typically reserved for partial or removable dentures because of another solution we offer, All-on-4®. Similar to how implant-supported dentures work, All-on-4 uses implants to support a prosthesis similar to that of a denture. But this is strictly for full-arch dental replacements. All-on-4 uses four dental implants to anchor the full-arch denture into place and keep secure. Again, this avoids the issues we see with bone decay being less likely and avoids slippage all together.

Providing Quality Care At Affordable Prices

The best part is these solutions are not as expensive as replacing every tooth with single dental implants. They provide a higher quality of support than dentures do whilst not increasing the price of care to a higher level.

What’s better is we have found a great way of cutting down costs by having our laboratory facilities located in the same building as our practice. At Dental Implants of Ocala, our goal is to provide you with the highest quality care while keeping prices low. By including our labs in the same building, we are able to manufacture your dentures on sight bringing down costs of shipping between locations and allowing us to get you results faster.
